The fruit is a sign that the plant is healthy, alive, and growing. When there is no fruit, something is wrong.
The same is true in our lives. If we are connected to the Vine, Christ will naturally produce His fruit in our lives. When there’s no fruit, something is wrong. This means that when we are in Christ, we become really fruity!
But the key is staying connected to the Vine. We don’t grow fruit by trying harder, we grow fruit by abiding in Christ. And Galatians 5:22 gives us a small taste of the delicious fruit we can expect to see. It says, “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”
That’s quite a list!
And it’s just the beginning of all that God wants to do in our lives.
We’d love to hear what you are discovering about Jesus as The Vine. How are you learning to stay connected to Him? What difference is that making? How is He allowing you to have fruit in your life?
Please share how this I AM touches your life in some way – or simply share a piece of your journey with Jesus. We’d love to hear it. Also, please respond to any of the comments here that touch you.
